My
name is Eliida Lakota, a
descendant of two Native American tribes
and raised with some traditional Lakota
values, I have had the unique
opportunity of seeing life from a little
different prospective than most of my
friends. My father was an artist and
encouraged creativity. My mother was a
survivor and encouraged self
preservation and a nurturing spirit.
I am
a licensed, certified occupational
therapist having worked thirty
years in behavioral health, fifteen of
which were involved with eating disorders.
I specialize in expressive arts
and stress management. My presentations
have been well received in hospitals,
colleges and primary schools for many
years. |

Deep within all
of us resides a creative spirit
that is too often stifled in our
modern world. My workshops offer
a series of interrelated
sessions that have the potential
of stirring and/or reviving that
personal spirit. Our inner
wisdom lies deep within, holding
out powerful messages, just
waiting for the opportunity to
express itself. Expressive arts
are the natural path to a better
understanding of our deepest
needs. All we need to do is to
learn how to "listen". Like the
primitive drawings on cave walls
we observe in wonder the mystery
of the inner world and yearn to
decipher their meanings.
Utilizing watercolor,
journaling, imagery, movement,
music, you will be experiencing
a number of enlightening
personal revelations. |

| Having worked
in behavioral health in a large
medical center for thirty years,
I have used expressive arts to
bring light in to the darkness
demonstrating to people how to
observe and interpret their own
internal images, then using
these findings to make relevant
changes in their lives. The goal
is to achieve peace of mind and
bring balance to their personal
sphere. |
